How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Horizons at 77th - 1 Bedroom has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
