Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your perfect rental:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View Style at Kingston Top Location w Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
