Rental property booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best rental home:
- Start by having your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. HUGE 4\/4 Condo w\/ Two Oceanfront Balconies - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
