Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Ideal Oceanview Studio Getaway! Amenities Galore has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
