Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Resort - Sea, Sun & Sandcastles - Direct Oceanfront, 3rd Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
