Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the rightrental home:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Immaculate Oceanfront Queen Suite With Updates! - Caravelle Resort 619 - Sleeps 2-3 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
