Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Impeccable Oceanfront Suite, Top Floor! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, call the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
