How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Bluewater Resort 720 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
