Our top Rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Impressive Oceanfront Suite on the 11th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
