Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Impressive Oceanfront Suite on the 11th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
