Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Incredible 1BR condo, ground floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
