Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. In The Heart of Ocean Lakes and Pet Friendly!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If not, call the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
