Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Experience Pure Oceanfront Luxury in the Prestigious Arcadian Shores Section - has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
