How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Private beach house one block from the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
