Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. July 4th Week - Ocean Front 1 Bedroom Deluxe Westgate Myrtle Beach Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
