Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 6th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
