Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Wheelchair-Friendly Breathtaking Ocean front views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
