Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
