Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
