Vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your group decide on trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. LA6 Ocean Front studio + pool has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
