Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Enclave, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club - 2 Bedroom - Partial Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
