Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Enclave, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club - 2 Bedroom - Partial Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
