How to find the best vacation rental experience:
Finding the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Large Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean, 2 Balconies! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
