Our top Vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Large Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
