Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2BR\/2BA Oceanfront -10th Floor- Bright & Beachy! Just Updated for 2022! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
