Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2BR\/2BA Oceanfront -10th Floor- Bright & Beachy! Recently Updated! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
