Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Large Oceanfront Condo - Family Friendly, Beautiful Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
