Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Custom Home on LakeFront in Ocean Lakes has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
During your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
