Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental home:
- Start by having your group select a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Largest Indoor Water Park- Three-Bedroom Penthouse Condo-Beautiful Sunset Views has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
