Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

How to choose and book a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Spectacular views, oceanfront, immaculate condo, unforgettable sunrises! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
