Rental home tips:
Get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
