Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Lovely 1bd\/1POC 1ba Condo in Preferred Gated Cmnty\n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
