Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxe Living in Oceanfront Suite, YourPerfectGetaway! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
