How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Luxury 3-BR Cottage \/ Pool&WiFi, Steps to Ocean has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
