Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Luxury Ocean Front 3 Bedroom, 18th Floor at Bayview Resort, Myrtle Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
