How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront at Southwind Resort (2nd floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
