Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the bestrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Luxury Oceanfront Three Bedroom Two Bath Condo at Carolina Dunes! (2nd Floor) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
