Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the bestvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 3br Deluxe Condo Family Fun on Myrtle Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
