Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Magnolia Hidden Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
