Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book a perfectrental home:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Incredible 2BR condo in the center of MB has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
