Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- To start, have your family agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Incredible 2BR condo in the center of MB has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
