Strategies to get the best rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Magnolia Place 4673-103 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
