How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the perfectrental:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Corner oceanfront 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
