Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your family agree to dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Magnolia Pointe 201 near Myrtlewood Golf Club has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
