Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group decide on dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Reef and Family Friendly 3 bedroom\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
