Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose a perfectvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Maison Place Unit I - Relaxing Balcony! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
