Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean View Retreat: Includes Breakfast 14th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
