Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Bluewater 2 BR Oceanview Stylish Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
