Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Perfect beach vacation! Make family memories, 500 ft. from toes in the sand! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Have a wonderful stay:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
