Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Marvelous Oceanview Suite\/Dogs OK! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
