Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Front Seaside Serenity! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
