Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Meticulous Oceanfront 1Bedroom Suite\/ Jetted tub! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
