Our top Rental booking tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental:
- To start, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Million dollar view condo! Fully Renovated\n\n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
