Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the rightrental home:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront Condo, amazing views, breath taking sunrises and sunsets has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
