Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 18th Floor OCEANFRONT-CAMELOT BY THE SEA has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
